Old Fashioned Holiday Bazaar, Landmark, 10am-8pm. 75 booths of beautiful and unique handcrafted gift items by the area’s finest artists - quality handcrafted items including, jewelry, wreaths, paintings, woven and wearable art, handmade lotions, soaps and more! Festive music and treats. Admission $4; children under 12 will be admitted free.

Holiday Shopping Stroll, St. Paul.  Extra hours to shop at your favorite establishments – like Artist’s Merchantile! Completed shopping cards will receive a comp tickets to the History Theatre’s performance of “Sample Night Live” and be entered into a prize drawing. Past prizes have been: a night stay at the St. Paul Hotel, Park Square tickets, and a gift certificate for each shop location.

Lowertown First Friday, 6-9pm.  Participating studios, shops and restaurants.  Stop by Legacy Chocolate and Revival Wine and Spirits in the Pioneer Endicott Building.

North Pole Express, Union Depot, Dec.5-7, 11-14.  Minneapolis-based steam locomotive “Milwaukee Road #261” and refurbished cars, maintained and staffed by RHMA volunteer members, will provide the experience of a real steam train, Santa and his elves and holiday fun for all.  Your ticket includes a mile long train ride to Santa’s village and then back to Union Depot. Once Santa is on board, children will have a chance to meet Santa on the way back to Union Depot.

History Forum: The Bitter Elections, History Center, 10am & 2pm. $15. The bitter election between Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams in 1824.


Holiday Bake Sale and Tree Lighting, Union Depot, 10am-4pm (tree lighting 4-5:30pm) Top Twin Cities bakeries will be selling their goods in the Waiting Room at Union Depot. Activities include: cooking demonstrations, musical performances and fun giveaways throughout the day. Christos will be offering gyro sandwiches and refreshments for purchase. $5 admission for adults and seniors; kids under 12 admitted free. Commemorative holiday tins will be sold for $10 and include one general admission, recipe cards from participating bakeries, a Union Depot specialty cookie and a drawing form to enter to win prizes.

Sundays at Landmark: From Pearl Harbor to Peace, Landmark, 1pm. Remembering Pearl Harbor and the path toward peace. Children’s activities and panel discussion by local community groups.

Fear Among Friends: German-Americans in St. Paul, 1917-18, Central Library, 2-3pm. Professor Annette Atkins, an expert on the Public Safety Commission, will describe what happened to the German American individuals and community in St. Paul.
